Most Stable of All U- Knives for Heavy Duty Cuttin
The blade does not retract on this knife. That can be a minus in some cases because you must be careful how you carry it in a tool pouch or reach for it when not looking. The up-side is that the handle/body and blade retention are the most stable of all the U-knives out there, making for great confidence when doing heavy duty cutting. When youu really gotta lean on it hard, this is the u-knife you want in your hand. I'm a pro carpenter and contractor and I have used this version in my shop for years while keeping retracting versions in my tool pouch.

Blade will not fully extend or extract properly
Recently received from Santa - however it is not machined properly and the blade slide mechanism binds and is too tight to fully extend the blade. When you can force the blade to fully extend it is very difficult to retract

Not as good as they used to be
They have made a few changes over the years. I believe they used to be made of cast aluminum (much lighter) and you could set the blade in two positions and the extended position was great for cutting 5/8" drywall.
