Hi, my name is Kristine and I was fortunate enough to receive a grant from the Pink Fund. I was diagnosed in April 2023 and nobody really tells you the financial strain a cancer diagnosis can bring. Cancer takes so much from you and to have to worry about how you will pay your bills or how much you are putting on credit just to get to the next month is exhausting. I chose to do treatment at Mayo clinic for a trail drug for my type of breast cancer. We are lucky enough to live only 2 hours from the hospital in Rochester, MN.
As a single mom hit with Breast Cancer, this is by far the most serious fight for my life. I had 2 Partial Mastectomies and Port Surgery I'm now on an aggressive treatment plan of Chemo and then Radiation. Aside from the emotional part, the financial part is hard also. I did not know how I could work, I found the Pink Fund from a Support Group I'm in. And I am so very happy to have a weight off my shoulder from my bills. Thank you Pink Fund for helping with my bills. I now know I can make it, I'm going to be a Survivor.
