Good "Middle Ground" Razor
I've been using this product for the last three months. It has been working fantastic thus far. It's easy to use, easy to maintain, and replacement blades are easy to find. The razor does take a few passes to get all the hairs, but I suppose a lot of razors have the same issue. I would recommend this razor to anyone looking for good performance without breaking the bank. I will continue to use Norelco fr their great product.

First off let me say that I should mention that I was sent a free Phillips Electric Shaver to use for this review, with that being said ,let me get to my honest review of the product. I have used electric shavers in the past but was not always a fan of them but this one past my expectations. The quality of shave was smooth and gave a clean shave and the best part is taking a hot steaming shower to open the pores on my neck and face to test if it would get a perfect shave without leaving stubbles in hard to reach areas. I must say that it was probaly one of the best shaves I have had in a while. I think its a well made quality product and I would recommend it,not just cause it was free but because of the job it does.

Daily use works well, but 3 day growth it struggles vs foil shavers.
They say nothing is free in the world, well I disagree; as I just finished using my sample electric Philips Shaver I can attest to it being free. I dare say this shaver would do the job as a daily shaver but struggles with 2-3 day growth that a guy with hair on his chest might have. It does well with short hair that 1 day growth produces; think in terms of typical razor blade skin smoothness if shaving daily.
It fits well in the hand is contoured for grasp; which is a good thing since you will be passing it over the same location several times if you wait 3 days before shaving. You will leave some un-cut areas like pictured.on half the face.
Strange that the trimmer is a separate piece and can be lost due to it being the case; so get a bag to put the pieces in along with the power cord.
The cutting area on the head does not do well on upper lip or above chin or curves of neck but it does do well on flat surfaces like the cheek.
Went over the same area multiple time; making an assumption that increasing the horsepower/rpm would solve it or even possibly a more powerful motor and making the model a plug in to alleviate recharging the battery.
All being said; this would be an excellent shaver for someone with minimal growth or even a young guy just starting down the road to conversion from manual razors.

Not recommended for sensitive skin
I received the Philips Shaver 5100 as a free product in exchange for writing this review.
Compared to my other electric razor the Shaver 5100 feels light, more plastic than metal, and components separate when I lightly dropped it.
As for quality of shave - after first use my skin felt raw and itchy. The manual says it takes up to 3 weeks to adjust to a new razor. My existing razor didn't take more than a week to adjust and works well on my sensitive skin. I don't recommend this razor if you have sensitive skin.
The shaver cuts fairly close but not as close as my other foil based razor.

best razor I ever used
I received this shaver as a sample in exchange for writing a review.
The lightweight, different angle of the shaver is easy to hold in my hand. The head has an angle to it that makes it easier to get a close shave. The lithium battery is nice in that it holds a charge better than my old razor that has another kind of battery does. I like this razor better than any other electric shaver I have used to shave my face.
