Consumers across the country are turning their garages and barns into heated work spaces that can be used comfortably 12 months per year. Mr. Heater Big Maxx unit heaters use a built-in electric high-velocity fan to pull cool air into the rear of the heater and over a heat exchanger, forcing air into the surrounding area. This heater requires 115 volt AC power and can be vented vertically or horizontally - please check local codes and restrictions. This heater can operate using propane (LP) or natural gas (NG). Proper venting is required and is sold separately. With a mounting clearance of only 1 inch, the supplied brackets, external access to power, and thermostat connections, installation is a cinch.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works well Replaced an old 100,000 BTU with this in my 40 X 30 shop and wished I had done it 10 years ago. Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the fan is a little out of balance with the resulting vibration and noise.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Heater and Best Price Around I bought this heater a month ago to heat a boat shed where I'm restoring a 29' Chris Craft. The space is 30'x50' with 14' tall ceilings. One side is metal with no insulation and this heater brings the temps up to a very nice working level. Due to the ceiling height I added an inexpensive 20" fan at one end which pushes the heat down from the ceiling and disperses the heat throughout the space. Installation was straight forward as was the conversion to propane. I first ran it off a grill bottle before having a more permanent tank installed and it worked well with both. A great product that compares well with units costing much more.
