A good filter system that tries to be too easy
After years of trying various faucet-attached and pitcher-filter units for improving our drinking water, we decided to give EcoPure's system a try. The biggest problem with the two aforementioned methods of filtering is that over time the companies would discontinue the model of filter for the device we had, and with limited selection and differences in capacity sizes we wanted to get away from pitcher-filter systems altogether.
There's many under sink and whole house filtration systems available at local retailers. We chose this because it connects inline with your existing cold water connection and existing faucet. No separate "drinking water only" faucet required.
Installation took only about 40 minutes. Biggest challenge was placement under the kitchen sink and making sure everything that came out from under the sink could go back in when done! :)
Two complaints about this system.
1. It uses push-in fittings for the inlet and outlet of the filter housing a push-in union connector for making the connection from the outlet to your faucet's cold water connection. Push-in fittings are way less reliable than standard screw-type compression fittings, and within two days this kit proved it. We found the union connector had began a slow drip leak at some point within the first day or so and made a nice mess under our sink and cabinet. Due to the rigidness of the tubing they give you, if there's really ANY angle to the tubing at all going into that union it wouldn't keep a seal. And YES, I made sure the tubing was pressed in completely. Fixed this by buying a 3/8" to 3/8" union compression fitting and a 3/8" adapter insert and sleeve (both sold in the plumbing section of Fleet Farm).
2. You have to run each new filter for 20 minutes to clear out the "carbon fines" which are apparently minute pieces of carbon that get flushed initially out of the filter. I don't know what my flow rate is on my faucet or the number of gallons, but that seems like a LOT of wasted water.
End result WAS great tasting water, but the ease of installation requires scrutiny and I think it's not beyond the average homeowner to be able to tighten compression fittings which Ecopure should probably use instead of push-in connections. I almost feel like I have to watch this think every few days to make sure the inlet/outlet connections don't start leaking.

What does this even mean....
I just got it but it was pretty easy to hook up. The water taste better but that is what was expected so I guess you could say it is working. I would say consider getting a more flexible hose as this was the only part I found difficult to work with. Check back with me in six months and I will let you know how it goes.

The Best Water Ever!!
I bought this last month (5/18) but had to wait to have someone install it for me. It sure was worth the wait! The water tastes so pure, so much better than any bottled water I've ever bought! I'm drinking much more, it's cheaper than bottled water, and No More Plastic bottles!! I did my research and this EcoPure was rated the best and I can see why. I only wish I had purchased this several years ago! Love that if you change the filters once a year you get a lifetime warranty too! I highly recommend this to everyone! No more yucky tasting coffee or water for me!
