Decent tires for commutingThese are commuter tires, plain and simple. Marketed as a performance tire but traction is probably among the worst tires out there.
I cannot use 1st or 2nd and my car isn't really extremely powerful. These tires just can't hook.
On a side note, they are quiet, they wear well, and they look good... but I can't enjoy on-ramps because they don't hook.

Perfect "Super-Performance" Tire for Florida, etc.Have 2010 Challenger w/ Hemi, etc. Complete race suspension system bars, lowering springs (to level vehicle only), struts, chassis bracing, race shocks, and really big brakes!. Ride and handling on SCCA track and "twisty" rural back roads is phenomenonal and puts alot of "supercars' to shame. Original tires were Z rated "supercar" tires at 255/40/R20. They lasted about 15K (I abused them on purpose to test the suspension, etc...). Finally worn out... So research began... Will it fit the wheelwell? Will it fit the factory 9.5" rim with factory "offset", etc. Gotta be very very careful!! Arrived at 275/40/R20. Looked at everything; measured repeatedly, etc. Then to the types that met the specs.. Must be a XYZ type tire that can sustain 140-160 plus for limited periods of time.
The most cost effective tire that does all of these things is the Cooper. The others are "impressive", but usually as much as twice the cost, etc. Extremely well made; balancing was half the weight from the "others" (Rims are factory special rims and we did a balance check and they required almost NO balance); Tread is perfect for dry conditions and rain posed no problems. Tire Pressure is kept at rated 50 PSI; Lotta' theories on that; but you can run it down to 35-45, depending on what you are doing. Very "quiet" for this type of tire, but enough "noise" that matches the road surface. Durability? Don't know yet, but it appears that wear is consistent with pressure and what you are doing with the car. "Ride Comfort"? Very good considering that it is a harder compound. Sufficient feedback is there. After about 10-15 minutes, they are "hot and sticky" within reason, and cornering is really good, and very predictible.
Mid-range torque and power from performance motor/transmission can break any rear tire "loose". The RS3-S (at 275/40R/20...) is no exception. But.. it's very minimal; less than a split second and tires regain traction, etc.
Words of caution... Make sure it will fit your rim; fit inside wheel well, and does not exceed the max diameter specified for the car. Measure, measure and measure again! Use a reputable dealer who will order one, makes sure it fits, etc. You will not be disappointed!!

Best bang for your buck 4.5 starsVery good tire, I have a staggered set up on my BMW 540. Performance equals that of Mich Pilot Sport. Great for ripping thru the "twistys". I would definitely buy these again

Great ride and quiet!Just put a set on my C6 Z06. Took off the F1 Supercar originals with 9300 miles. They had gotten so loud I thought I had a rear axle bearing going bad. Checked bearings and they were ok, so decided on a set of non- run flats, because I heard they were much quieter. The difference in noise level is crazy. My wife and I can have a normal volume conversation in the car. Not only that, I don’t feel every little crack in the pavement now. I did buy a P88 Viair inflator to carry in the back if needed. I have no idea how these tires would perform on “track day” but I don’t care, don’t drive it that hard anyway. I really like these tires.

Sticky great for summer playI haven’t had a problem with my RS3-S tires on dry roads when above 45 degrees f. Super sticky when taking corners. I was forced to drive in the snow from storage to a new wear house (it’s usually parked in cold weather) and I was drifting all over the place (I knew this would happen with these tires even with awd) they are hard tires so you’ll feel the road. I wouldn’t recommend the S tires for anyone trying to get a smooth ride out of their car, but if you like the “race car” type feel these are very affordable and great summer tires!

Not very good traction. Ok for the priceI have a 2013 Camaro ZL1 with 700+ horsepower and someone recommended these tires and traction is impossible with these. Good ride quality though. Probley good for 300 horse power cars.

Very disappointedI only drive my car during the summer and had driven well below the estimated miles when the wear bars were showing. I had researched prior to my purchase and have always been very satisfied with Cooper Tires on other vehicles.
