Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Tires '99 Tahoe I've had two sets over the past 100k on my Tahoe. Tires is the only thing between my family and what keeps them safe on the road, so I spare no expense and put my tires through the wringer before I put my family in the vehicle. Call me crazy if you want, but I put more value on my family than myself, guess that's the military in me. My tests, I find a gravel road with curves and get up to a solid 45+ mph and do a slight side to side steering action to test for loss of tire traction, there was none. Then I lock the brakes and measure stopping distance (now remember my Tahoe weighs 5280 lbs) which was 22 feet. Rather impressive if you ask me. I'm an adventurer and live in Colorado, so I have a trial I test my tires on with steep grades, lose and sharp rocks, tree stumps, exposed wet roots, and rivers. These tires never slipped once and my Tahoe doesn't have lockers. I was on mud team down in Georgia and with stock height, I was the one they called when they got stuck. I got stuck once, well I got high centered on a log, and it took two trucks almost 2 hours to pull me out. These tires perform the same in the snow. I've recovered countless motorists out of ditches and have pulled trucks and trailers uphill (without chains or studs) yes these tires have a stud option. Road noise: Yes, there is a tad bit of road noise, but who really cares when you trust the tire to get you from point A to point B, whether you're on the pavement or off-road. Treadwear: I personally think the treadwear for these tires is phenomenal. I've had two sets of the same tire and have a combination of 100k. The current set has about 45k on them and just under half tread left.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 2010 GMC SIERRA 2500HD Z71 DURAMAX Have the ST Maxx on my truck. I travel all over the eastern US for my son’s baseball team (Go Rebels!!!) so lots of highway. When not on the road for baseball, this is my daily driver at home for work, hunting, fishing, etc. They see asphalt, moderate to deep snow, ice, mud, rocks, etc (Ohio weather so snow can get pretty heavy and the mud can be pretty nasty in spots). I am disabled and have to trust I won’t end up stuck in a field or on a river bank miles from home. They have just under 50K miles on them and have been great. Only flat was due to a LARGE lag screw I picked up. The last 5K miles has been a rough ride, but they are a heavy duty tire so, kind of expected that once they wore down. They are quiet, handle well, and have tackled everything I have thrown at them with no issues. Would definitely recommend them. Going to replace them soon, just debating on going with the same thing or upgrading to the STT Pro.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid tire! 2018 Ram 3500 Laramie w/stock 18" rims and a 1.75" level with ST Maxx 295x70xr18. Load rating E. These tires are great and very comparable to the BFG or Toyo tires but last a lot longer. The tires don't rub anywhere and rock in the snow. The Load rating on this particular tire is awesome too. 4,080 pounds. There is a little bit of road noise but nothing like a annoying mud tire. I'd buy another set. Good Luck!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not great for constant highway use I purchased a set of these Cooper ST Maxx tires for my 2014 Ram 1500 4x4 with a leveling kit. I’ve got to say...they look GREAT! It’s just what I pictured in my head...35s with stock 20” chrome rims...perfect. Well, almost. These tires were very difficult to balance...I was hoping for a better quality tire from USA made Cooper. My truck looks great but rides...well...like a truck. They are also noisy on the highway, which is 95% of my driving. I know what you are going to say...it’s the wrong tire for you...but they look so good! Also, I have a set of STTs on my Jeep, with no vibration problems or issues. Noisy, yes, but it’s a full on mud tire. These are supposed to be a “hybrid “, using the “latest technology”. Handles like a mud tire to me...but they look so GOOD!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great looking tire just wears fast for heavy loaded trucks Swapped out the factory Goodyear tires that came on the truck at around 300 miles. Currently have 10,885 miles on the truck. Tread depth is at 13/32. Wear is very even, ride, noise and handling all great, it’s just a shame the tread wear has been so fast. At this rate life expectancy is probably going to be 25,000 to 30,000 miles tops. I will say approximately 7500 miles of the total mileage on the truck, I have been pulling a trailer. Maybe my expectations are to much, but I want to consider Cooper a premium brand like Michelin, and 40,000 to 60,000 miles out of a truck tire is the expectation from most consumers. Yes I will try Cooper products again in the future, next tire will probably be the new AT3 XLT, carries a 60,000 tread life warranty. And S/T Max will probably go 60,000 miles on a 1/2 ton, it just appears that maybe there are better options for HD truck owners.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very Good Tire I work in the oil field and ive used this tire on my '09 Silverado 2500HD here in south texas. I drive 90% on gravel roads and they've last me exactly 10 mos/ 31K miles, this is the tire that has giving me more miles out of them. Now I have a '18 Colorado and this are the tires I will use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 2000 Silverado 2500 4WD Replaced OEM tires at 28k with the early-on Discoverer STs then the ST MAXX. Vehicle at 106k miles without a flat off-road including countless hunting trips in NV, UT, CO and WY. I seasonally haul a lot of hunting gear and equipment under a 450-lb HD camper shell. Plus having the same tire for natural resources agency work for years without a flat off-road. Also had the Discoverer STTs (correct name?) on a prior 1972 Chevrolet 4WD for years: no flat Scores of thousands of miles off-road including rocky terrain for work and personal vehicles. Probably the best off-road tire made. All these tires were rotated at 3 to 4k miles.
